The Happy Hair Brand Award 

Are you the hair brand that your customers simply couldn’t live without? 

Nominations are welcomed from the following products: shampoos, conditioners, gels, edge gel, creams, styling products, hair dye, relaxers, curly perm, oils, lotions, hair curlers. Hair extensions of any kind (wigs, weaves, clip-ons) must be enough hair to create a full head/instalment hairstyle).

Makeup Brand of the Year Award

This category celebrates make-up brands owned (at least 51%) by a woman of colour) includes all colour cosmetics  – lipsticks, lip liners, blushers, lashes, liners, eyeshadows, mascara’s, concealer, foundation, brows.

The Skincare Award

Have you created a skincare product that nourishes, protects and makes your customers feel good?

This category is open to the following products:  body lotions, body scrubs, foot products, all hand products (not nail polishes), face oils, cleansers, toners, moisturisers, serums, masks, polishers, mists, micellar water and facial/body brushes. (Cloths are welcome if they are branded with your logo)

Wellbeing product of the year 

Every year the health and wellness sector continues to evolve and grow rapidly. With new trends emerging and the demand for the very best service and products increasing.

So we have created this category as a celebration of the women of colour truly making their mark within this industry.  Those whose innovative ways, tireless efforts and dedication has seen them achieve incredible accomplishments over the past 12-months.

Yum in my Tum Award

This category has been established to reward women of colour who strive to provide an outstanding level of service and taste within the food and drink industry.

From restaurants to pop-ups and bar owners to creators of food and drink brands, this category is for you.

Social Butterfly of the Year 

This award celebrates the best use and practice of social media, strategy and influence. Bloggers, Instagramers and YouTubers are all welcome to apply.

We’re looking to celebrate women with a focused social media strategy, which is relevant to their audience and balances engagement with promotional content.

FAB Accessories Brand of the Year

This award celebrates a designer/entrepreneur that has demonstrated a skill for both creativity and commerce,and establishing their brand as a  fashion leader.

The Book of the Year 

What is the book that made you laugh, angry, cry, change your perspective or just feel good? This award celebrates those books written by British women of colour and published over the last 12 months (4/29/2018 – 3/29/2019) It covers all book genre’s  (fiction and non-fiction) including: First Novel/ Humor / Comedy / Satire  / Thriller  / LGBT Fiction/ Children’s/ Young Adult Non-Fiction/ Business/ LGBT Non-Fiction/ Biography / Autobiography/ Self-Help/Spiritual / Inspirational

The Fitness Queen

If you’ve ever wanted to get fitter, eat better, feel less stressed, or take any other steps toward living a healthier life, odds are you’ve looked for someone to help guide you on your journey. So tell us: who’s recipes, fitness tips and inspirational messages have inspired you? Who is your fitness Queen?

Podcast of the Year

Let your favourite podcast created by a woman of colour know that you’re not just a download: you really, REALLY love what they do.

Nominate them for The Podcast of the Year Award! This category covers all genres including business, comedy, wellness, arts and culture, education and more.

Media Platform of the Year

This award recognises the best media platform run by women of colour in the UK.

This ward highlight the unique role that magazines, ezines and blogs play in raising awareness of often underreported issues, stories and challenges.

Visual Artist of the Year

This award is intended to support women of colour who can demonstrate artistic development of their practice and an ongoing commitment to their work through the creation of new work,

Nominations are welcome from artists working in contemporary visual arts in the fields of drawing, illustration, painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, animation, film, digital and moving image as well as installation works including sound, text and/or performance elements.

The Innovation Award

This category celebrates innovation and creativity across the hair, wellness and beauty industry.  This is an opportunity to showcase a woman or company who have truly harnessed technology to drive innovation in a product or service.

 

RULES AND CONDITIONS

1. The awards are open to individuals, partnerships, organisations and businesses based in the UK

2. Entry is by authorised entry form only. The form itself provides for identifying information only. Entrants are required to submit whatever statements, testimonials and records they wish for the relevant category. The judges reserve the right to seek more information or clarification.

3. Contenders may enter themselves or be nominated by another.

4. No responsibility will be accepted by the competition organisers for any material sent or any entry lost or delayed in the post. Entries cannot be returned.

5. Entries will be judged by a panel appointed by The PRECIOUS Lifestyle Awards.

6. The winning entries will be announced at an awards ceremony to be held in July 2018.

7. A condition of entry is that entrants co-operate with the media and in particular with PRECIOUS for the publication of a story about their business (whether before or after the announcement of the winners) and also with any other media coverage that may be given to their business.

8. The organisers will, within the scope of these rules, treat all entries as given in confidence but can accept no responsibility for any failure of confidentiality. Entrants should take appropriate steps, prior to entering the competition, to protect those aspects of their entry that may be patentable or registrable as designs.

9. Individuals and organisations may enter more than one relevant category. Each entry should be on a separate entry form.

10. Entries should be submitted no later than June 27th 2018. Entries received after that date will not be considered. 

11. There can be no appeal against the decision of the panel of judges. Their decisions must be accepted as final in respect of all matters concerning this competition.
